Meet Our Team

Dr. Hansen received his veterinary degree from the University of Missouri (1980). He completed his dermatology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and is Board Certified by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. He has served as Assistant Professor in Veterinary Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania and founded Dermatology and Allergy Service for Animals in 1986. He is also a member of the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology. He served as Dermatology Chairperson for the American Animal Hospital Association EXCEL committee (90-94). Dr. Hansen has authored numerous articles for veterinary journals and has spoken at numerous veterinary meetings all over the United States. Dr. Hansen is happily married with three children. In his spare time he enjoys officiating at swim meets.

Dr. Johnson received her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. She has worked at Alexandria Animal Hospital for 14 years (1986-2000) and joined Dermatology and Allergy Service for Animals in 2010. She is a long time member of the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology. Dr. Johnson is married and has two sons.  In her spare time, Dr. Johnson likes to garden and is an Executive Board Member of the Northern Virginia Swim League.
