It is difficult to estimate the cost of a dermatologic evaluation and treatment. The initial office visit is $135.00. With that we almost always have to perform skin scrapings and skin/ear cytology. Therefore, the base price for the examination is roughly $215. The total cost including medications is difficult to predict. While most cases are fairly straight forward, some are more complicated and present a greater challenge to diagnose and treat. With initial tests and treatments, the initial office visit may be in the range of $470-950+. If allergy testing is performed, the fee may be in the range of $800-1200+ which includes the first set of allergen vials. This is a wide range because additional laboratory tests may be indicated, sedation or anesthesia may be necessary, and medications may be dispensed.
